Toshinori Muto birdied the final hole to claim his second career win on the Japan Golf Tour with a two-stroke victory at the Tokai Classic on Sunday
Muto began the final round in a tie for top spot with Yuta Ikeda and the two players teed off on the final hole still tied for the lead on nine under after both had carded five birdies and three bogeys through the first 17 holes of the day.
But Ikeda bogeyed the 465-yard par-four 18th while Muto birdied, handing the 30-year-old his first tour title since the 2006 Munsingwear Open KSB Cup.
Muto shot a three-under-par 69 to finish on 11-under 277 while Ikeda settled for second on nine under after a closing 71.
Makoto Inoue was alone in third on eight under after firing a two-under 70 with Kunihiro Kamii (69) and Azuma Yano (71) tied for fourth on seven under.
Defending champion Camilo Villegas finished in a tie for 31st on one over after closing with a two-under 70.
